About The Team

Speakeasy Studios is not merely a design and marketing firm that decorates and makes things look pretty. We are more of a strategic partner, and take pride in our ability to supply our clients with meaningful ideas and implementation. We believe strong design is an essential utility for doing business, but we also know that if that design isn’t put in the right place at the right time, it isn’t going to do any good. When you work with Speakeasy Studios, you work directly with the designer, the developer and the marketer. Your message isn’t lost through a receptionist, assistant, or intern. You speak directly to us, and we get it. It is that easy.
You can find Speakeasy Studios in the historic Loveland Feed and Grain building. By planting our roots in Loveland’s history, we feel a strong connection to our city and can continue to grow Loveland as a community with strong ties to the arts.

Andrea Maxwell: Design Extraordinaire

What is your role at Speakeasy? I am the main point of contact for most design needs - from branding to an initial website look, most of the design projects are filtered through my mind first. I also keep some pretty sweet tunes rolling.

What is your background & education? I have a BA in Visual Arts with an emphasis placed in Graphic Design from UNC. I also have over 10 years of design experience as a freelance designer and in the print communication fields, working for various newspapers as a designer and advertising consultant.

What is your personal philosophy? Marty Neumeier said it best,"The most innovative designers consciously reject the standard option box and cultivate an appetite for thinking wrong." I like to think wrong - it takes me places.

If you had a superpower what would it be... and why? Mind-reading. So when I hear... "I don't know what I want, but I know what I don't want..." I will be able to read the clients mind - because for the most part, folks know what they want, they just haven't found the right words to describe their needs. I also think it would be pretty sweet to wiggle my nose and be on the beach with a margarita in hand at any given moment.

Jarvis Fosdick:
Web Development

What is your role at Speakeasy? Well, I make webpages, which it turns out is called "web development", althought I feel this might be too serious a title. Novertheless, "web development" usually refers to the main non-design aspects of building web sites: writing markup and coding -- a line I borrowed from Wikipedia.

What is your background & education? I have a Bachelor's Degree in landscape architecture and sculpture from Colorado State University. I work as an artist and otherwise pursure a creative mind.

What is your personal philosophy? As far as philosophy goes, I began reading Pyotr Alexeyevich Kropotkin and later Michel Foucault, which is to some extent the basis of my current artistic practice, however, I think the question implies a response more along the lines of advice, to that end I say, be yourself, open your heart and have the courage to listen to others.

If you had a superpower what would it be... and why? I want to be able to stack cats. My power would give me the ability to stack any kind of cat one on top of another. There would be no limit to how many cats I could stack and I could do it real fast. Imagine that, just being able to place differnet kinds of cats in a well balanced stack, maybe 30, 40 feet tall, depending on the amount of cats available at any give time.
